Opinion: Reelect Pynchon so she can continue the good work she has began, Canton resident says

To the Editor:

On Tuesday, I will be voting for Carol Pynchon for Village Trustee. I hope you will do the same.

One of the things that I admire most about Carol is that she talks in terms of “we”, not “I.” She sees great potential for our community when people work together and models this by working collaboratively with her fellow trustees, town board members, and community members.

Carol’s efforts have already yielded positive results for our village: The Sustainability Committee’s Solarize Canton initiative was a success and has brought grant money for further economic development, community recreation programming is growing, efforts are underway to make our streets safer and more user-friendly, and plans are in place to revitalize waterfront areas, which will further strengthen our local economy.

Carol is also working with members of the Village and Town Boards and local community members to create a Comprehensive Plan. Knowing that Carol Pynchon is involved in these efforts gives me confidence that the process and the outcome will be beneficial to our community.

Throughout her first two terms, Carol has brought energy and enthusiasm to the village board and has collaborated effectively with her fellow trustees, the mayor, and the town board. Let’s re-elect her on Tuesday so that she can continue the good work she has begun on our behalf.
