Opinion: Potsdam doctor says Trump supports insurance across state lines and health savings accounts

I wish to express my personal opinion about one aspect of this election that I know something about and that is health care.

I feel that the best insurance option for our country is for everyone to have a health care savings account with a high deductible insurance plan to cover things that are expensive and beyond the scope of the HCSA.

This gives cash up front to pay for small to moderate medical expenses while having insurance available for the big things.

This program would also bring competition into the medical market place and take the insurance companies out of the small claims business.

HCSA would allow providers to collect at the time of service by a swipe of the HCSA card with no waiting and fighting to get paid, this would lower costs and overhead.

Getting the government out of the primary care office would bring doctors back into primary care by eliminating the headaches that grow every year. For people who don’t make enough to put tax free money into the HCSA the government would do so, for example low income people or people on Medicaid. For working people the HCSA would be funded with pretax earnings taken from your paycheck. Your employer may do the funding or reimburse you.

The HCSA could be used for glasses and dental care as well. Although I have seen some good come from Obama Care I feel it’s a less ideal option and it looks like it’s turning into a mess in many ways.

The party that is for insurance across state lines and HCSA is Trump and Pence.

HCSA will incentivize people to be aware of what medical care costs and to shop around for the best quality at the best price.
