To the Editor:
We stand in solidarity with our Muslim neighbors, here in the North Country, throughout the entire U.S., and the world, by strongly condemning the openly-racist and Islamophobic de-facto Muslim ban by the Trump administration.
Stereotyping and scapegoating have never enhanced security, but are instead the surest path to open fascism. Building communities out of respect for collective interests is the only sustainable path to prosperity and real security.
The policies pursued by this current regime of right-wing demagogues in the White House make America and the world much less safe and even more unstable.
We are encouraged by the growing and widespread resistance to the recklessness of the Trump administration. Now is the time to rise up for social justice and environmental sustainability.
