Is it just me, or do other people out there wake up each day to see media headlines so depressing that we are sad and tired even before breakfast? Then the day marches on and local and world events continue to weigh on our minds till we are all but a basket case by the end of the day. Where are the feel good stories we should be reading? I give North Country This Week a standing ovation in that they do publish some nicer stories now and again.

Well, I recently discovered a local situation in Potsdam that is bound to give people a dose of the absolute "happies" for the day. Strangely, no main media has hit on the story yet which is quite surprising! For some time there's been a mysterious character known as the Potsdam Batman showing up here and there in support of genuinely good causes. He charges nothing at all and has a growing following of fans, mainly interested in the good that's being done for charities.

In particular, this amazing young man is especially the champion of physically and mentally challenged kids. Local media has tended to overlook Potsdam Batman and his gang of heroic cohorts. (Wonder Woman, The Riddler and others.)

Recently however, his Facebook page was deleted. Something about being a fraud' with no actual communication from Facebook. It isn't exactly brain surgery to figure out that there was someone that complained to Facebook about his page.

Generally, this type of troll attack is carried out by bottom feeders that live only for the purpose of causing trouble in chat rooms and other social media sites. They troll along like a fisherman trying to find sites where they can do the most damage.

They are pathetic examples of the lowest sort of computer abuse there is next to the scammers that bilk unsuspecting senior citizens out of their life savings.

I would like to extend to all readers that believe in giving of ones time to the needful and helpless people that are so abundant, to pay attention. Whoever Potsdam Batman is, he takes not a cent for any event nor cause he's asked to attend.

Granted, there is a neat helping of cosplay involved, but when someone so unselfishly gives their time, in particular to the smallest and most helpless victims of life's cruel aspects, can we deny such a soul the pleasure of making it a little bit fun? Is there anyone that has even the smallest heart that can't cheer him on?

There is a certain element of mystery about Potsdam Batman, but if you ask around town, you can eventually contact him. I invite the media to all search him out and give him a little support. People like this are rare, but God bless them all! Good people really do exist!
