Opinion: Perkins works for best interests of SLC residents, Hannawa Falls resident says

I write on behalf of Rick Perkins, who is the incumbent St. Lawrence County legislator in district seven. I have known Rick personally for several years and have been thoroughly impressed with his stalwart character.

Rick, a resident of Parishville, is loved by his neighbors from both sides of the isle for his uncanny ability to see through the politics and champion the appropriate stance on county issues.

During his first term, Rick has worked closely with residents and town boards throughout the district. In the town of Clare, for example, Rick played a pivotal role in establishing the town’s fire department. The proposed wind towers were a heavily disputed topic in the towns of Parishville and Hopkinton, Rick worked closely with both opponents and proponents of the project.

Rick has worked in a bipartisan fashion to help fix the county’s fiscal troubles. They have successfully lowered taxes for three years without cutting services. Rick has worked diligently to help turn around our Community Services Department.

Rick also introduced legislation that would limit the county judge’s ability to implement restrictions on pistol permits issued within St. Lawrence County.

Rick’s commitment to work across party lines with all members of the legislature to promote the best interests of the residents of St. Lawrence County has been and will always be unwavering.

I urge you to support Rick Perkins on November 6th so he can continue his steadfast work as our district seven legislator.
