To the Editor:

On behalf of Edward C. Seymour VFW Post 1231 Auxiliary I want to thank all who were a part of our second family Freedom Festival.

We were honored to again have a 10th Mountain Division band from Fort Drum attend and provide music for us.

"Avalanche" rock band was heard from 1 to 3 p.m.. We also had two soldiers from Canton Reserve Center with us for the day.

We want to thank the St. Lawrence County Sheriff for doing child identification cards and for allowing Fable to attend; the Canton Fire Department for having a fire truck and ambulance on site; the St. Lawrence County Clerk's office for sharing information and providing veterans discount cards; Mark McKenna for setting up a display for Wounded Warriors.

A special thank you to the Presbyterian Church for the use of the park and their

facilities; to the Greek Canton College Students for your assistance. Also to Little Italy for graciously providing lunch for the band and all who volunteered that day.

Veterans please be reminded that Little Italy accepts the Veterans Discount cards.

To those in the community who attended, thank you for your support. We appreciate your patriotism. To the members of Post 1231 and Auxiliary who participated, thank you for your support to our organization.

To Mary Jane Cassada, thank you for chairing the event.

Diana Goolden
