To the Editor:
I am dismayed by Elise Stefanik’s failure to condemn Mr. Trump’s selection of such men as Steve Bannon, Jeff Sessions, and Mike Flynn for positions in his administration.
These men have a well-documented history of anti-semitism, racism, and Islamophobia and thus have no place in our nation’s government.
We do not owe them any benefit of doubt that once in positions of power, they will abandon their repugnant ideas. After all, you run for public office based on your own track record; these men should be held accountable for theirs.
To remain silent demonstrates to your constituents that you support and condone these men – and other of their ilk – and their poison.
