Opinion: Norwood-Norfolk Central school board candidate wants students to only focus on learning

To the Editor:

My name is James P. Dillon of 35 Bernard Ave., Norwood, New York. I am currently filling a one-year school board seat that was vacant. I would like to continue serving the Norwood community by filling a three-year seat that is coming available this year.

Last year the Norwood-Norfolk School board put an ad in the paper looking to fill board member seats due to lack of interest in board positions. I decided to run last year, running unopposed winning a one-year seat.

My goal is to give every child a learning classroom experience they would enjoy. I would like to provide a safe and secure environment where children are only focused on learning, while challenging each child to their highest academic standard.

I will do my best to accomplish all of the above while being fiscally responsible to the Norwood-Norfolk taxpayers. Please take into consideration that I have experience by being an active member on the board for the past year serving to the best of my ability.

If I am elected, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have no hidden agenda with only the students of Norwood-Norfolk in mind including children of my own.

Please vote for me on May 15, 2018 at the Norwood Norfolk School from 12:30 - 8:30 p.m.
