Opinion: Norwood Fall Festival enjoys continued success, mayor says

To the Editor:

The 45th annual Fall Festival in Norwood was very successful thanks to many individuals who donated their times and effort. Among those people and organizations were: Frank Pierce, who organized the car show; Louis Pierce, who, after running the festival for 22 years, gave a great deal of advice to assure the vendors were here and satisfied.

Many service organizations and churches were involved. The Norwood Volunteer Fire Department, Kiwanis Key Club, Norwood Public Library, Order of Masons, Daughters of American Revolution, Girl Scouts, Norwood-Norfolk Central School, Karla Trimm’s Petting Zoo, the Save the Fountain organization and Village DPW and police.

Special thanks to Andy VanDuyne for his excellent entertainment schedule and to all the musicians who volunteered their time.

Whatever proceeds are realized from the event will be put toward upgrading the children’s playground in the park.

There will be a bigger and better Fall Festival next year on Sept. 15.

I apologize in advance to the people or organizations I have failed to mention; you know who are and thank you.

Timothy A. Levinson

Mayor of Norwood
