To the Editor:
The Ministerial Association of Potsdam has a decades-long history of healthy relationship building between the very diverse religious groups in our community.
The opportunity to become acquainted and grow in understanding of our differences and commonalities has built friendships across cultural and religious lines and allowed for healthy cooperation to the benefit of our community.
As hatred, division and violence fill the news of our day, the members of the Ministerial Association stand united in our condemnation of these things. We resolve to build community through understanding, compassion, service and love.
We clearly state our rejection of racism, terrorism, white supremacy, violence against police, anti-Semitism, attacks against minorities and religious groups, Muslim, Jewish, Christian or any other. MAP will work and pray to end hatred and violence. We choose to treat all people with dignity and respect. Let’s bring healing to our culture by building relationship.
This joint statement was issued by the Ministerial Association of Potsdam. Respectfully submitted,
Suzy McBroom
