To the Editor:
The Potsdam Lions Club and the Potsdam Snack Pack Program wish to express a heartfelt thank you to the Potsdam community and surrounding community residents for their kindness and generosity in donating hundreds of snacks and $1,060 in cash donations to the Snack Pack Program at Potsdam's Lawrence Ave. Elementary School.
An selection of healthy and kid friendly snacks were donated filling 6-8 shopping carts full from the great local stores of IGA, Save-A-Lot and Big Lots, who were very helpful in partnering with the Fundraiser efforts!
The Snack Bags filled with 8 snacks each were prepared for 40 children and are in the 2nd weekend of distribution. Plans to expand the program to more eligible children will soon be realized.
The Snack Pack Program will be an on-going benefit to children throughout the school year, for eligible young students Pre-K - 4th grade receiving healthy snacks for additional weekend nourishment.
