To the Potsdam Central School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee and everyone involved: thank you for all your hard work and dedication.
Thanks for making an old man very, very happy. You made me feel like a celebrity.
The track and cross-country teams were more like a family and coach Lewis was a father figure to a lot of us. I never stopped caring about Potsdam, wherever I traveled.
My inner spirit was rejuvenated during my visit. It was wonderful to have been able to stay at coach Lewis’ home. We had some quality time together.
It made it more special to know that I was there in the early years. Nothing will ever come close to the honor of being inducted. I’ll have my ashes buried under the starting line…ha! ha!
