Hopkinton Residents: In response to the CCRP ad in the NCNow (nice picture of a beautiful turbine by the way).
1. Where’s the comparison between a PILOT/ Host agreement and full tax assessment? With CCRP pushing the Hopkinton Supervisor for a vote that would stop the project we may never get that answer.
2. Isn’t the fire tax of $30,000-$40,000 annually a NYS mandate? Sure, but no project no money. What’s your point?
3. Property rights and protections given up with a Good Neighbor Agreement
What’s with California…stay on point. CCRP has a copy of the GNA and knows that no rights are given up.
4. Does “Electricity Bill Offset Program” really exist?
This one really has the CCRP CCRPing. Yes it really exists. All homeowners in the town of Hopkinton that don’t receive lease or GNA payments will have 75%, up to $1,200. Sue Wood is wrong in saying that only people in the wind overlay zone will get this. This is for ALL households in the entire town!
5. Have you considered tax ramifications?
Avangrid doesn’t advise anyone on any tax issues. That is entirely up to each individual. It’s their decision to take the benefit or leave it. No one is being forced.
