Opinion: Food drive will help out during busy time of year in Canton, Clare, DeKalb, Hermon and Russell

Church & Community Program would like to thank our local mail carriers and everyone who donated so generously to the May 12 mail carriers food drive.

Our pantry received a mountain of food that is much appreciated, especially as we head into our busiest time of year.

On average, our pantry serves about 200 households a month from the towns of Canton, Clare, DeKalb, Hermon and Russell. In summer, we peak at about 240 families a month so every box, bag and jar of food helps a local family.

We thank our local churches, residents, businesses, organizations and colleges for their friendship and support throughout the year.

For more information about receiving food from the pantry, donating, or volunteering, please come see us at the corner of Main Street and Riverside in Canton.
