Eric Arthur Blair, better known by his pen name George Orwell, wrote a novel titled 1984. In that book, Orwell describes such things as “doublespeak.” Doublespeak tells us that good is bad and bad is good. Light is dark and dark is light. War is peace and peace is war, etc.
When I read the book years ago, I thought it was a story about America after the Soviet Union took over. But whatever Orwell had in mind when he wrote the story, it has become a description of America today.
We have the fascist thugs in Berkley rioting for the cause of anti-liberty while calling themselves “anti-fascists.” What! Their acronym, ANTIFA, means anti-first amendment!
Free speech as guaranteed by the First Amendment is the cornerstone of liberty. Today’s fascists want to end it.
To end liberty you need to get guns out of the hands of honest citizens and control the flow of information. Diversity of ideas must be eliminated.
