Opinion: Economic benefits put above health and safety, Hopkinton resident says

To the Editor:

As a Hopkinton resident I would like express my extreme disappointment and disgust with my town board members who put economic benefits above the health and safety of their citizens by not passing a wind law to protect us.

Your obligation is not to protect the interest of business entrepreneurs. You have now wasted precious time and, due to the negligence of having never properly filed the previous wind law, you have left us unprotected with a wolf (Avangrid) in the sheep pasture (our lovely town of Hopkinton).

Sue Lyon and Steve Parker, but especially flip-flop Sue, I hold you both personally and legally accountable for dereliction of duty according to the oath you took when you became representatives of the people.

The health, safety and welfare of our Hopkinton community was not protected at the meeting.

Shame on you!
