To the Editor:
I am the owner of Shelly Lynn's Creations. I sell homemade soy wax melts, wax brittle, and candles. I made my business in memory of my mother Shelly Lynn French who we lost tragically November 12, 2016 in a tragic house fire that occurred on the McKnight Road in Chase Mills.
I created my business to keep her memory alive and to recreate all the things we lost in that fire.
My mother had a huge heart and was an amazing woman that always went over and beyond for people and gave every thing she could to people in need. So with my business I am also doing good deeds.
My first project is a donation project for the Volunteer Fire Department in Waddington as a "thank you" for helping my family and I out that night when we desperately needed it. I will be presenting them with a check and a nice personal letter.
In order to maximize my outcome with my donation project I am running this through the months of spring with the launch of my spring line scents.
I will be taking a certain percentage of all sales throughout this month and contributing that way. I also allow people the option to leave a donation (tip) on bill to help donate that way as well. I have reached out some local business in Waddington asking if I can leave a donation jar as well in order to get the community involved.
I am hopeful for the a good outcome of this project.
