To the Editor:

Chris Curley is a great person, an exceptional attorney, and a superb justice for the Town of Canton. Throughout the years that he has been a justice, he has served Canton with intelligence, fairness, and effective judgment.

I speak with first-hand knowledge of this because I have known him personally for over 10 years, and have litigated with and against him on many occasions. For a time I served as the Canton Village Justice while he worked as the Canton Town Justice. So I have worked in the same office, have watched him do his job, and have come to the conclusion that Chris Curley is very good at his job.

Chris Curley is kindhearted and equitable by nature, but he does not shy away from delivering punishment when it is necessary and deserved. Chris knows that a lot of people around here can’t afford a harsh fine on a minor speeding ticket. Most people that appear in front of him probably find him exceedingly pleasant, real criminals meet a different Chris Curley.

Chris Curley knows the law. A lot of people think they know the law, or have some experience with the law, but Chris Curley actually knows the law. It is my opinion that even among attorneys that also serve as Town or Village Justices in St. Lawrence County, Chris’s level of knowledge, and experience, and his depth of understanding concerning the law, is unparalleled.
