Opinion: Community effort makes Colton Winterfest health fair successful, says event organizer

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the following organizations for participating in the Colton Winterfest Health Fair: North Country Pre-Natal, Claxton Hepburn Hospital, St. Lawrence Co. Stop DWI, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Dr. Adam Jaffe, Hospice and Palliative Care, St. Lawrence Co. Sheriff's Department (Safe Child ID), Seaway Valley Prevention Council, Health Initiative, American Red Cross, NYS Public Commission, St. Lawrence Co. Public Health Nurses, Fidelis Care, Walmart Vision Center, Canton-Potsdam Hospital, United Health Care, Potsdam Lions Club, Plexus Worldwide, and Pierrepont EMS.

I would like to thank The Bagelry in Potsdam, Boyce's in South Colton, and Kunoco in Colton for their donations of food and beverages.

I would like to thank the staff at Colton-Pierrepont Central School especially Gayle Hayes, Peggy Horton, and Callie Murphy.

I would like to thank Mr. Whalen and the varsity boys basketball players for helping us to set up tables and chairs.

I would like to especially thank Peter Hoyt, Mark Davis and Tonya Davis for their help before, during, and after the fair.

Last but not least, I would like to thank all the people that came to use the services offered and all the people that participated in any way at the health fair.
