Opinion: Cobb will work tirelessly for her constituents, says Morristown resident

To the Editor:

On Tuesday June 26 Democrats in the 21st District have an opportunity to elect a candidate from our party to run against Elise Stefanik.

We’ll have the opportunity to elect a candidate that will work tirelessly to represent all of her constituents equally. A candidate with a proven track record of working across the aisle in advocating for constituents is what we need and deserve.

I met Tedra Cobb many years ago and know her to be the person that can best represent us. She is the only candidate that has held public office but more importantly she is a person with the experience of working with groups tackling issues and problems to get to the best solutions.

Having spent over nine years as the president of The United Steelworks Local 1026 union and ten years as the recording secretary of The Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties Central Trades and Labor Council I’ve had the opportunity to meet a lot of candidates running for office. There are a few of those people that got elected and spent their time and our tax dollars doing a good job. Tedra will be one of those people that will be a true representative and advocate for the 21st District.

If you look at her candidate questionnaire and profile recently published by North Country Public Radio you can easily understand why I support her.

I believe she is the only Democrat that can beat Elise Stefanik in November. Please join me in voting for her on Tuesday June 26.
