To the Editor:
As we listen to the news from Washington these days, there is an increasing level of alarm for many of us.
As the progress toward equality and justice made over the past half-century erodes, it becomes very clear, and urgent, that something has to change.
We have called and written to our North Country Congressional representative, again and again, with little sense that our input matters.
With few exceptions, the votes of our House rep do not reflect the interests of our North Country neighbors, or much of our country, starting with the healthcare vote. We just have to do better.
There is actually something we can do soon, to greatly improve our link to Congress. We can be sure to get out and vote on November 6 and elect Tedra Cobb to be our House representative.
Tedra has a long, solid record of standing up for folks in the North Country. She’s been fighting for better healthcare, education, the North Country economy, ethics, and a safer, healthier environment, for her entire work life. She will not be influenced by big-money interests in Washington because she’s not taking their big money. Tedra’s support comes from us, so she will be working for us.
Talk to your family and friends and make sure they get out to vote. Voter turnout will be the ticket to our future.
