To the Editor:
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, with the Canton Village Board having two open trustee seats.
Carol Pynchon has worked tirelessly as Trustee for the past two years. She has moved us forward, with needed change, as a member of the Golf Committee, Economic Development Steering Committee, Recreation and Shared Services Committee.
Carol has worked with an engaged team to create the Sustainability Committee with results advocating for the Solarize Program and encouraging the Village Board to go solar with utilities by entering into an agreement with Solar City that is expected to save close to two million dollars over a 20-year period.
She also applied and the Village was awarded the Local Food, Local Places Grant out of 300 applicants nationwide putting our community on the national map.
Carol partnered with former Trustee Brooke Rouse to move the Village forward in reinstating the Economic Developer position. Working with Trustee Larrabee, upgrades to the Village Golf Course were moved forward due to the visionary targets that were identified.
She is working with Trustee Stevenson to address the rental/code issues that have continued in the village by creating a citizen committee to review the laws and create better systems.
The bottom line is that Carol Pynchon has worked daily for the residents of Canton to make things better. She has a strong work ethic, serves with integrity, listens, believes in transparency, is a team player and a results oriented person that truly cares about Canton.
Please vote for Carol Pynchon on November 3, 2015 for Village Trustee.
Mary Ann Ashley
Mayor of Canton
