The irresponsible and illegitimate call by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for President Trump's immediate resignation has been met with bashful silence by New York State Republican lawmakers and committee members.
Will no Republican official denounce Gillibrand’s shameless exploitation of the prurient and unsubstantiated allegations against the President of the United States?
The senator's demand shows a disregard for the principle of equality before the law and displays a lack of familiarity with basic jurisprudence unbefitting a United States Senator.
The state Republican Party should rally its strength and stand up to the frenzied senator whose unwholesome obsessions -- amplified and sensationalized by the media -- have no place in government.
