We have corrupted Mexico's rural economy, turning farmers into hapless enablers of America's bottomless appetite for drugs.
Giant American energy companies steal Mexico's corn and turn it into fuel, leaving the people hungry, and the farmers subject to the whims of global energy markets. These disruptions have become the new extraction industry for America's investors.
Mexico cannot become safe and whole until they get control of their border and stop the flood of greed and rabid capitalism from entering their country. Every wall will have doors, and Mexico should decide who comes in, and why.
