To the Editor:
The best Christmas gift ever.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March of this year, and last Thursday, December 8, was my last treatment. I just have to tell everyone what an inspirational journey this has been for me.
Of course when you are first diagnosed you get bombarded with everyone’s ideas of what is best for you. I chose to stay here in Potsdam especially after a second opinion from Roswell in Buffalo stated that Potsdam was doing everything that they would do.
I have no complaints about the Cancer Center in Potsdam, I can only sing their praises. They were great! From the doctors to the nurses. They kept me going. If I had the smallest of complaints, they would take care of it. They never made me feel as if my complaint was minimal or unimportant. I really can’t say enough good things about these wonderful people who help people with cancer on a daily basis. I couldn’t do it! And they do it daily with smiles and positive words and actions.
I also have to thank my employer PACES and all of the employees. Unlike many who are going through this journey, I worked. My bosses and the staff in my kitchen were great. There are no words great enough to thank them for looking out for me.
Lastly my dearest friends and family. Positivity and love is what got me through this hard journey. I am blessed to have many great people in my life and I can’t thank you enough.
Sadie, I love you and have to yell it from the mountaintops that I have the best daughter in the world!
As of right now I am cancer free and to me that is the greatest Christmas gift I could ever receive. So thank you to everyone who helped me get this wonderful gift this year.
