To the Editor:
I am running to be the next Congressperson for the 21st District because you deserve someone who meets with you, listens to you, and fights for you.
I was born in Schenectady and moved to Glens Falls in second grade. I graduated in 1977 from Glens Falls High School, received a BA from Colgate University, an MA in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago and a law degree from Fordham University School of Law.
In 1992, I returned home with my wife, Jennifer to raise our three children. I wanted to share my fond memories of summers in Bolton Landing, hot air balloons floating above in the fall, skiing in the Adirondacks, and springtime white water rafting on the upper Hudson.
For almost 20 years, I have maintained a private law practice protecting consumers and employees. I helped save the homes of thousands of residents of NY 21 and defended victims of workplace sexual harassment.
In 2005, I was elected Saratoga Springs’ Commissioner of Public Safety, a citywide office that leads and manages Police, Fire and EMS. I was proud to resolve disputes originating from the prior administration and lead an effort to expand the City’s bonding authority so it could address critical infrastructure needs.
As the next Congressperson for the 21st, I offer real solutions to our challenges. I will appoint a full-time economic development specialist to my Congressional staff to focus on job creation. I will apply my legal experience to improve the laws prohibiting workplace harassment. Additionally, I will propose a high tax on corporate political contributions and expenditures.
I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail in the coming days and learning about what you want in your next Congressperson. For more information about me and my vision for the NY 21st go to www.ronaldkimforcongress.com.
