To the Editor:
In response to the child who saved his family from a fire in DeKalb: we here in the Heuvelton area are very proud of you, 10-year old boy! I wish I could use your real name, but they didn't print it.
We thank you for your clear thinking and the fact you did not panic in the face of a very dangerous fire! You are indeed a hero in our and most everyone's eyes. I also hope someone will print this for you and see that you get to read it, because we want you to have credit for alerting everyone in the house which allowed them to escape the fire without serious injury!
We need more people like you and everyone wishes you and all the others in your home the very best of luck and a future full of wonder and beauty. You and your family certainly deserve it, especially you.
When they come to bestow that hero name upon you, just relax and know that you did right, all those people are still alive and safe, and don't worry about the small stuff. So you won't need to do anything but be yourself and everything will go great!
We hope you get to read this!
Friends in Heuvelton.
