To the Editor:

My decision to run for Ogdensburg City Council comes from the sluggish lack of progress that our city has made due to the inaction on the part of our elected officials.

We must look to the future instead of living in the past! The way our city currently conducts business broadcasts the wrong image of what Ogdensburg should stand for.

The city should be friendly to new and existing business. It should also provide our businesses with whatever support they need to grow and expand to create new jobs and opportunities for our citizens.

We also need to work with our city’s current personnel to become more efficient, productive, and accessible. As a former project manager, I know that it takes communication, cooperation, and compromise in order for a job site to run smoothly.

I plan to bring this attitude to city hall. The current dysfunction of the city council continues to hinder any progress that our community can make. We need to focus on what the members of our community want and need.

For instance the recent proposals on growing and developing our airport could be a serious game changer for the city, and yet we see inaction.

I truly believe Ogdensburg can become a great place to live, with plenty of opportunity for all! Integrity, honesty, commitment to our citizens is what I want to bring to city hall. I ask for your support this November!
