To the Editor:
It is exciting when community members are willing to roll up their sleeves and work hard for positive change by getting involved in the political arena and desire to hold an elected office to make a difference in the lives of others.
Sean O’Brien is that person who has stepped up to enter the race to become a Canton Village Trustee.
Sean earned his Ph.D. in English at the University of Notre Dame, where he continued as the Assistant Director of the Keough Naughton Institute until 2012.
Moving to our village four years ago, Sean is a SUNY Canton Humanities Professor and was appointed to the Village Planning Board a year ago.
With the goal of long-term economic sustainability, Sean loves Canton because he knows this is a wonderful place to live, work and play.
Sean is a person of good character, genuine, has integrity, treats all people with dignity and listens with an open mind. He lives on Jay Street with his wife Lenore and two children. Lenore is also very active serving on the Economic Steering Committee and is the Remington Arts Festival Coordinator.
Please vote for Sean O’Brien, Canton Village Trustee, on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Mary Ann Ashley
Mayor of Canton
