Norwood Village Green needs $ for 2011 season

This letter is about money. As we begin to put together our program guide and make final preparations for our 38th annual season there is still that omnipresent fund raising chore to accomplish—balancing the books for the year. Balancing the books means ending the year with the same balance as last year. In other words—not losing money.

As of this writing, we still need to raise $8,804 to break even. That is in addition to the $7,000 we hope to raise in our pass the bucket. Please help if you can. All donations of $25 or more will be included in the 2011 program guide if received by May 27. Donations received after that time will be included in the 2012 program guide. Donations continue through our fiscal year to Aug. 31.

The specifics of our donations can be found on our website as well as our complete schedule for 2011. There is a wealth of information about our performers for 2011 there also. The website is www.norwoodvillagegreenconcertseries.org.

We still face financial challenges, as does everyone else. We need to make up for a 17 percent across the board cut in our state Council on the Arts Grant and address continuing economic factors. We have been good stewards of the money entrusted to us and will continue to operate in this time honored frugally conservative manner. The bottom line is we will need money—lots of it. We still need the above noted $8804 to break even, however $16,800 will help us begin to upgrade the band shell facility with our specific plans.

We hope that you will be a donor for the 2011 season. More importantly, we hope you will fund us at a level you feel comfortable with, and we will use whatever you give us to assist us with our programming. We can only take donations by mail or by check. Make your check payable to The Norwood village Green Concert Series, Inc. and mail to Joe Liotta, Norwood Village Green Concert Series, 3 Bicknell St., Norwood, NY 13668. All donations are tax deductible.
