Norwood, Norfolk, Raymondville Community Lunch Program for Kids offered over winter break

To the Editor:

On Saturday, February 18, the Norwood, Norfolk, Raymondville Community Lunch Program for Kids held its winter break distribution of breakfast and lunch food items.

This program, established in June 2016, was designed for children who receive free/reduced breakfast and lunch during the school year, but are left without this support when school is out for vacation periods.

Between the two distribution sites (St. Phillip’s Episcopal Church in Norwood and St. Raymond’s Catholic Church in Raymondville) The Community Lunch Program for Kids distributed food to over 60 families with over 160 children.

This program would not be possible without the very generous support of local churches, civic organizations and businesses. We would like to take the time now to thank these very generous people and organizations.

Thanks to Stewart’s Shops, Walmart, JCEO, Neighbors Helping Neighbors, the Catholic Churches of Norwood, Norfolk and Raymondville, the Methodist and Congregational churches of Norwood, the Wesleyan Church of Norfolk, The Norfolk Lions, the United Methodist Church of Raymondville, the Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry and several very generous anonymous donors.

A special thank you to Perry’s and General Dollar of Norwood and Fe Fe’s and Smiths’ of Norfolk for allowing us to set up collection containers in their stores.

Once again, we sincerely appreciate the efforts of all who make this program possible.
