To the Editor:
The Norwood Village Board would like to thank The Norwood Business Alliance for the “Norwood Holiday Festival” program, they planned and staged for local residents recently.
Over 900 attended and thoroughly enjoyed the Santa parade on Main Street, the lighting of the Christmas Tree, the children’s pictures with Santa, the horse drawn wagon rides with Tim Hatch at the reins, the bon fire by fire department members, the Brass Firemen’s Band members plus the Belle Aires from Norwood-Norfolk Central School performing on the band shell.
There was also free candy, cookies and cocoa supplied by the Hometown Café.
A house decorating contest with many entries caused our village to be brightly lit and truly festive this Christmas Season.
Special thanks to Sue and John Fregoe and Bobbie Phillips of Hometown Café, Sue Perry and Tim Hatch of Perry’s Big M, Ray Richards of the Hobby Shop, as well as all the Norwood businesses that planned and financially supported such a well planned event.
We urge all to support our local businesses and to shop locally before going elsewhere.
Norwood is fortunate to have most everything a family requires here in our hometown.
