To the Editor:
I am one of the directors of the Hopkinton Food Pantry.
The government shut-down has rippling effects on our upstate economy. WIC programs, VA benefits, food pantries, and other good programs are in jeopardy.
Many workers are furloughed without pay while the president and members of congress and the senate are still being paid.
I don’t presume to have the answers to our nation’s problems, but to hurt our own people is unconscionable.
Please get your act together, stop playing politics with people’s lives, and put the American people in the forefront, where we should be!
