To the Editor:
The Neighborhood Outreach Program wishes to thank community members, organizations, and individuals for their time talents, and/or support throughout the 2013 calendar year.
It is with great pride and pleasure that we report 470 individuals were helped through the Christmas Give-Away Program.
Through your generosity, our program was able to supply 149 families and 200 children with food, clothing, and toys. In addition, the monetary donations were used to purchase school supplies for NNCS students. We will be able to continue to help those in need throughout 2014, due to your generosity.
Every year we ask for the support of local community members, like yourself, and each year we are impressed and overjoyed with the response we receive. It is your kindness, generosity, and continued hard work that enables us to reach out and help so many this time of year.
We would also like to thank the many volunteers who gave of their time to help with toys, food, and clothing. Also, the helping hands when needed to carry large, heavy boxes. Thank you also to those who donated the food, mittens, hats, afghans, and toys.
Thank you Sylvia Despaw and the wonderful friends of the Norwood Golden Agers for the delicious luncheon served to the volunteers.
We apologize if we have forgotten anyone.
Pat Martin
Outreach Program Secretary
