To the Editor:
This past month the Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry was notified that it would be the recipient of a Stewart’s Shops Holiday Matching Funds grant of $750.
We would like to publicly thank Stewart’s Shops for this very generous donation.
The Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry, located at the United Methodist Church in Raymondville, distributes food on the third Saturday of each month from 9-11 a.m. On the average, we serve about 50 families each month, as well as providing emergency food on an on-call basis.
This food pantry would not exist if not for generous donors, such as Stewart’s Shops, the Food Bank of CNY and local civic groups, churches and individuals.
We also rely heavily on volunteers, as there is no paid staff.
Once again, we would not be able to provide the service we do without the very generous donations of groups, such as Stewart’s Shops.
On behalf of the volunteers and guests of the Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry, we wish to say thank you.
Wendy Chambers
Norfolk-Raymondville Food Pantry coordinator
