Norfolk fundraiser nets $4,500 for North Country Honor Flight

To the Editor:

On July 14, 2018, the American Legion Riders of Post #925 (Norfolk) hosted a fundraiser for North Country Honor Flight.

We held our traditional ham and salt potatoes dinner and raffled off many prizes that had been donated by the local communities. We were able to raise over $4,500.

Raising this much money for such a good cause would not have been possible without the wonderful support and generosity of our local communities and the dedicated work of our members.

The ride would not have been possible without the exceptionally generous support and hospitality of the Waddington American Legion Post #420, Heuvelton Amvets Post #1997, Potsdam Amvets Post #282, the Potsdam American Legion Post #74, and our very own American Legion Post #925 of Norfolk.

We are very grateful to the New York State Police, the St. Lawrence County Sherriff Department, and the Norfolk Fire Department for their assistance during the ride.

We would also like to thank all of the members of the American Legion Riders for their donations of food and time in helping make this a success.

We would like to acknowledge the selfless contributions that were made by the following individuals, organizations, and local businesses: American Legion Post #65 (Gouverneur), American Legion Post #74 (Potsdam), American Legion Post #420 (Waddington), Sons of the American Legion Post #514 (Winthrop), American Legion Post #514 Auxiliary (Winthrop), American Legion Post #925 (Norfolk), American Legion Post #925 Auxiliary (Norfolk), Sons of the American Legion Post #1479 (Hogansburg), Amvets Post #282 (Potsdam), Amvets Post #1997 (Heuvelton), Amvets Post #265 (Parishville), Art’s Used Cars (Waddington), Baxter's One Stop Automotive (Massena), Best Western University Inn (Canton), Blackthorne Resort (East Durham), Brewer Bookstore (SLU), Harry Caringi, Al and Linda Carpenter, The Cascade Inn, Coakley Carpet One (Canton), Commercial Press, Copper Still Restaurant (Massena), Christian Motorcycle Association, Marilyn Derouchie, Donna's Hair Styles (Canton), Fabulous Finds Boutique and Consignment (Massena), The Freetrader, LIFE – Literacy Is For Everyone, Marc and Elizabeth LoGalbo, Madrid Hometown Café, Madrid Main Street Market, Martin’s Country Store, Massena Savings and Loans – Waddington Branch, John McConnough, Moody River Motorcycles, Tim Moon, Kevin Moriarty, Frances “Mom” Morrison, Thomas and Maria Morrison, Nana's Kitchen (Massena), North Country Auto Parts (Canton), North Country Honor Flight, North Country Now, Ole Smokehouse (Madrid), Jim and Sharon Palmer, Pepsi Cola, Lois Pernice, Terry and Donna Peterson, Price Chopper, Bob and Lori Queor, Raquette River Golf and Country Club, Red Knights Motorcycle Club, Rex Hardware (Canton), River Lanes (Waddington), Riverside Liquors (Canton), Angela Rufa, Steve Sedlock, Shamans Motorcycle Club, Royal and Gail Sheldon, Shoulette’s Redemption Depot, Silver Leaf Diner (Dekalb), Lynn Smith, Snell's CITGO (Canton), Spanky's Restaurant (Massena), Star Route Sales (Canton), Kevin and Helen Sterling, Cindy Sullivan, SUNY Canton Bookstore, US Veterans Motorcycle Club, Valley Paper (Massena), Waddington Hardware and Building Supply Tru-Value, Wal-Mart (Potsdam), Wayne’s Service Center, White's Flowers (Canton), and Ye Olde Liquors (Canton).
