No apology needed, Regan’s own words

To the Editor:

The information in my letter was that of Marie Regan’s own words! So if it was misinformation then lay the blame where due. They were all quotes of the newspaper articles written and placed in the paper by Mrs. Regan.

I’m sure if anyone should be bitter and angry it’s you! You stated in your letter, “after years of diligence – the Town Board made all these decisions.” I really don’t see any diligence, what I see is a lot of needless waste!

If you remember right the “New Town Hall’ was put up to vote and voted down by the town taxpayers. The Town Council and Mrs. Regan has thumbed their noses in our faces and have went ahead with it anyway.

Let’s see $3,000 a month for 24 months plus half the cost of insulating the rental space and repairing the heating system and upgrades to the telephones, when the move wasn’t needed before New Town Hall was completed.

What has these expenses added to the cost of the New Town Hall? Mrs. Rich if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen. It only shows that the town council is not qualified in making spending decisions with taxpayers’ money. Again the “New Town Hall” was voted down.

While it does appear that the taxpayers in the Town of Potsdam are being taken to the cleaners, with a spending frenzy of taxpayers’ dollars, which just keep climbing with boards’ diligence.

My mom told me once, “Bill” you can be part of the problem, or part of the solution. Well, Mrs. Rich, I’m glad you stepped up, now I see you’re part of the problem.

With the diligence of our town board its increasing taxes in the Town of Potsdam, including the Potsdam Central School budget problems. So, if anyone is rude or arrogant, you’re the one that needs to apologize to the taxpayers in the Town of Potsdam, not me.

Again, thank you for all your kind words. I respect your thoughts and feelings, while I really expected much more bashing when I opened up this can of worms to the taxpayers.

What I didn’t expect is those with their hands in the cookie jar to come crawling out so fast. I can tell this, you don’t see ‘Stupid’ tattooed on my forehead. I wear a hat to cover my scar.

William C. Paige,

Potsdam
