To the Editor:
I watched Merritt Young at the wind committee meetings that were conducted in Hammond this past year.
There were over 30 meetings, of which no one on the committee was reimbursed for their time. Everyone volunteered their service. Merritt came to each of these meetings prepared to discuss the topic for the evening.
He asked questions and provided answers to his fellow members. He proved his ability to work as part of a team to make sense of some very complex findings.
He attends town board meetings and pays attention.
He has now stepped up to run for the town board with the hopes of providing some fresh ideas for the future of the town.
He has lived here for more than four decades and is a family guy who wants Hammond to return to prosperous times while respecting the beauty it has been blessed with.
Please vote for Merritt Young this November for the Hammond Town Board. Let’s have a fresh start.
Thomas L. Chapman, Hammond
