To the Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank a few people for their tireless efforts and support of our Memorial Day weekend celebration.
First, I would like to thank all of the fire departments, EMT groups, the Potsdam Police Department and any other organization I may have missed.
Kristin Towne and the Potsdam Hockey association were an added event this year. Hopefully we can get more organizations involved with floats and marching in the parade next year.
As always we thank Blevins Auto for lending us vans each year for our weekend events. A special thank you goes out to Cindy and Karen at the Potsdam Town offices for supplying our cemetery flags and our flags that we hand out during the parade.
Another special thank you goes out to John Lancaster and Lt. Colonel Jennifer Amato who both gave uplifting speeches during the Ives Park remembrance.
Finally, a huge thank you to my staff and committee members here at the Potsdam VFW. Without them none of this would have been possible..
Each year our parade seems to get bigger and better and that is all because of the great support we receive from our community. Thank you again and we look forward to another successful parade next year.
