Mein promises to work with other towns, county

To the editor:

My name is Bill Mein, a resident of Hannawa Falls and a candidate for Councilman in the Town of Pierrepont. This year there is a choice among four candidates for two Council positions.

While everyone is concerned about taxes, it is difficult to hold the line when the largest component of the budget goes to maintaining the road system and most of the remainder is dedicated to county charge-backs.

Although it is difficult for the Town Board to have much impact in these areas, I feel the Board can help by working closely with other towns and the county to investigate methods to bring some of the same services to our town at lower costs.

This can be done by all of us working together. Too often we “recreate the wheel” rather than seeking information from others to ascertain if there are ways to hold costs inline.

If elected, I will work to ensure we Work Together to uncover all avenues possible when budget issues arise.

My career as an educator and administrator provided me with many opportunities to work together with others to find solutions to problems that produced positive results for all involved.

I plan to bring this attribute to the Town of Pierrepont by listening to the people and seeking to achieve a satisfactory effect.

I can do this if you will come to the polls on Nov. 8 and vote for me.

William “Bill” Mein, Candidate

Town of Pierrepont Councilman
