Mayor shows grit during tough situation, says Heuvelton man

To the Editor:

I have followed a few Massena goings-on for some time now. I find the article, “Mayor and Supervisor Disagree on Water Deal” to be equally as interesting as several of other past instances for Massena.

In my opinion now and for quite awhile in the past, Mayor Hidy has shown a grit that’s truly needed in their situations. He is not afraid to ask questions, state his position, and do whatever is needed to reach a logical, complete solution. Many of these issues, including the electric power situation are closely protected by “big boys” with less than honorable intentions about how to protect their bottom-lines and high salaries.

I truly appreciate a person who speaks their mind and isn’t shy about it. I think Mayor Hidy does exactly that. I am the same way and whether I agree or disagree, I still speak my mind.

If you read closely, Massena’s issues often begin all the way back to the top; NYPA included, who in my opinion, have punished and scammed all of us within its power.
