To the Editor:

The days just seemed to fly by. Six weeks has come and gone and the Massena Summer Recreation program is now done.

Many fun activities and games were enjoyed by the children as well as cooling off at the beach. The weather was cooperative and we were able to enjoy the outside facilities almost every day.

The second six weeks of the program we were able to enjoy two more field trips. First we went to the movies and enjoyed “Minions.” It was lots of laughs. The children also enjoyed the snacks.

Next we went to the St. Lawrence Centre Arena for an afternoon of skating. It was another way for the children to cool off on these hot summer days. Thank you to the Massena Movieplex and the arena for their support of our program.

We continued our Wednesday cookouts with one new sponsor and two sponsors that helped us out in the first three weeks. Thank you to Seacomm for purchasing the pizza from Coach’s Corner for our annual Variety Show. The show went well and the pizza was delicious.

Subway treated us to another great lunch of their subs and Hannaford was our sponsor again for our Olympic day, which the children enjoyed hotdogs, chips and cookies. We also enjoyed a cold drink from Pepsi at all of our lunches.

On behalf of all of us at Massena Summer Recreation, thank you to all of the community businesses and people who make this a very worthwhile program. We hope everyone enjoys the rest of their summer days.
