Massena mayor should think before speaking

In Response to “Mayor Hidy Reacts To Comments By Massena Police Chief.”

“If being endorsed by the labor council means that I have to give up the courage to govern in the interest of all people in the village of Massena, I would rather put my fate in the hands of educated voters AND NOT people who have been told by these organizations how to vote.”

I have placed in caps what Mayor Hidy did not, but for a reason…to prove a point.

Other than that, these are Mayor Hidy’s exact own words verbatim, that he apparently was proud enough to not only utter once, but reiterate a second time.

How would Chief Currier, or any of the hard-working, tax-paying, property owning, voting public of the Village of Massena be expected to interpret otherwise? I personally interpreted the mayor’s comments just as Chief Currier did, and I’m sure so many others.

If one doesn’t wish to have to defend one’s own words, then one should take the time and effort to think before they speak.

To be fair…question from this voter to mayoral candidate Currier: How do you feel about village residents that own pit bulls and have tattoos?
