Massena mayor says Doheny best choice for local economy

To the Editor:

All too often we hear North Country people question whether or not our state or federal representatives actually govern in the best interest of our region.

Do they promote funding for programs designed to benefit economic changes toward job creation for our immediate communities? Will they work with state and federal agencies who create barriers making it more difficult for community revitalization? Will our representatives engage themselves to deal with state authorities who should re-establish themselves as partners providing support as we re-invent our region?

These are only a few of many concerns hanging in the balance for the North County’s livelihood. The old saying goes, “it take business people to create business.”

This simple phrase is why it’s most important to the North Country to support Matt Doheny. Matt is a North Country native who knows firsthand the issues that surround our region. He is that business person with a proven track record who, with his business background experience has turned failed businesses into model job-creating opportunities. We need to take a step back to realize local, state and federal governments need to be treated as businesses that are in failure mode. Only through business development and job creation will the North Country municipalities recover from the revenue they offer.

Not supporting Matt Doheny allows downstate individuals to determine our fate without having a stake in our region. Who best to represent the North Country as our congressman, than someone with ownership in the North Country?

Vote Matt Doheny.
