Many support benefits for North Country food pantries

To the Editor:

On behalf of the St. Lawrence County Community Development Program and its neighborhood centers, I want to thank all those who participated in the motorcycle run that benefited our neighborhood centers’ food pantries.

I want to especially thank Robin Barkley at the Smokehouse for providing the venue and delicious food and Mike Pearson who donated eight cords of wood that were raffled at the event; many thanks.

Tessa Fields, CDP board vice president organized the event. It was a huge undertaking, and involved many hours of work. Tessa did a great job and we all appreciate your commitment to CDP.

As funding cuts have occurred, the importance of the support of the community has become more and more important in order to allow CDP to continue to serve the families in need in St. Lawrence County.

Everyone had a great time and a substantial amount was raised to support feeding families in our county. Thank you to all of those involved in the motorcycle run on behalf of the families CDP serves.

Norma Cary, executive director
