To the Editor:
The Elks Lodge in Potsdam hosted a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser on April 27, 2016 in support of Mackenzie Wagstaff and her family.
Mackenzie, a senior at Potsdam High School, was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident on April 15, 2016. She is currently receiving therapy at Upstate Medical.
The dinner was organized by the Senior Class at Potsdam Central School. Through the community’s generous support in ticket sales, donations, and raffle item sales, the event raised nearly $6,000 for the family.
Special thanks goes to the Elks Lodge for donating the food and location for the event. We would like to give very special thanks to Exalted Ruler Bruce Wells, Larci Collins and Mary Charleston for your willingness to help coordinate and work the event. With the Elk’s faithful contributions, you have demonstrated your deep commitment to the Potsdam community. We are indeed grateful to you for your enthusiastic support, which helps us assist those in our community.
In addition, the Senior Class students, parent and teacher volunteers, and local businesses made the event successful through their hard work, commitment and financial support.
The Potsdam Central School has also provided financial assistance to the family by raising $735 from a Dress Down Day and $216 from Orange and Blue Night.
Gratefully,
Potsdam High School Guidance Department
