To the Editor:
On June 16, students and parents from the Norwood-Norfolk Elementary School participated in our annual “End of the Year Celebration” event which included games, arts/crafts, balloon artist, magician, face painting, a silent auction, gently-used books/DVD’s sale and a treat walk.
Many teachers and staff supported this effort and contributed to its success. Our sincere appreciation goes to the families, friends and school groups (Student Council and Key Club) who showed their support by participating and planning for this event. Several families donated tasty treats for the treat walk which the children truly enjoyed!
We’d like to extend a big “Thank You” to the focal businesses that donated many items to the silent auction. Some individual family donations included gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Garrow and Ms. Karen Haggett. Several families contributed items such as books/DVDs and food for the treat walk.
On behalf of the students and faculty we are grateful to everyone who made this event a fun-filled evening for the school community. We are looking forward to continuing this celebration for many years ahead at Norwood-Norfolk Elementary School.
Joanne Bigwarfe, Elementary Principal, NNCS
