Many contributed to AAK band trip fundraiser

To the Editor:

On behalf of the A.A. Kingston Middle School 7th and 8th Grade Band, I wish to recognize many of the people and businesses in our community who assisted with and contributed to our recent fundraising efforts.

Thanks to their generosity of time, energy, talent and resources, our band will be able to take a wonderful overnight excursion to Montreal, where we will perform, sightsee, play, and experience new culture. We still have to raise a little more for the trip, but we are much closer to our goal, because of this very successful weekend’s work.

Thanks to the Clarkson Air Force ROTC cadets who came and assisted with games and planning, and to the many parents who helped chaperone the 5th and 6th grade Fun Night on Nov. 18. Several of the Clarkson cadets came to help with the Pancake Breakfast the next morning as well, which was much appreciated.

A number of businesses and families generously contributed to our Pancake Breakfast on Nov. 19. The individuals include David Gravlin and the Potsdam Central School administration and staff. We especially thank these families: Phillips, Sullivan, Chichester, Caamano, Gable, Bird, Stone, Duciewicz, Frick, Montville, Julin, French, Thomas, Jukic, and many more students and parents.

These families contributed to the successful silent a auction which was held at the breakfast: Stone, Julin, Peploski, Pcolar and French. Ms. Teresa Stone deserves special recognition for conceiving of the auction and seeing it through from beginning to end!

Last and certainly not least, thanks to all who came and supported our program and enjoyed a delicious breakfast, prepared and served by our students and their families.

The event was an opportunity for the community to come together and interact positively for a good cause, and for our students to work and experience ownership in their upcoming trip.
