The St. Lawrence County Deputies Association recently held the Six Point Star Invitational benefit golf tournament that saw a local man sink a hole-in-one to win $15,000.

On Friday, Aug. 8, at the Gilbert Green’s Country Club shortly after the horn sounded at 10 a.m. for the shotgun start, Richard Friot, Heuvelton, used his seven iron on hole number two from 156 yards and sank a hole in one, winning $15,000 cash.

“This was a great way to start off this annual benefit tournament and without businesses sponsoring it we would not be able to hold it, said Sean O’Brien,” president of the union.
