Losing great county clerk, gaining state legislator
To the Editor:
Please join me in supporting Patty Ritchie for State Senate. Patty has done a remarkable job as St. Lawrence County Clerk. In difficult financial times Patty came up with an innovative way to bring more revenue into St. Lawrence County. She recruited car dealerships from downstate to register cars through the St. Lawrence County Department of Motor Vehicles bringing millions of dollars into our county. Then, when Albany wanted us to purchase new license plates, Patty not only stood up for the taxpayers of St. Lawrence County, she rallied other county clerks in the state to join her on the steps of the State Capitol and fight for every state taxpayer. Patty’s efforts saved hardworking New Yorkers millions of dollars.
I am in the St. Lawrence County Clerk’s office almost every day. I have seen how Patty treats employees, co-workers, and the public with the utmost respect and professionalism. She makes thoughtful decisions that are always in the best interest of the people she serves.
While I will miss Patty when she moves onto Albany, I feel she is the best person to represent us at the state level. We may be losing a great County Clerk but we’ll be gaining a State Senator who will stand up for us.
